Dr. Evan Allen, MD
Dr. Allen was born in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. He lived there until he was four and then returned with his missionary parents to the US. He grew up in California and attended Pacific Union College as an undergraduate, graduating with honors.
He attended Loma Linda University Medical School on a scholarship from the US Air Force, and then completed a residency in Family Practice at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California, receiving the Goff-Hougas award at graduation. He was then stationed at Nellis Air Force Base for two years. He spent his final two years in the Air Force at Izmir Air Station in western Turkey.
After leaving the Air Force at the rank of Major, Dr. Allen moved back to southern Nevada working in several clinics before getting a position as a staff physician at Fremont Medical Centers, eventually being promoted to Director of Primary Care before deciding to pursue other options. He spent a year at Diagnostics Center of Medicine in Henderson, but he felt he would be able to offer the best care as a solo practitioner.
He opened his current office in Henderson in June of 2007 and has enjoyed steady growth in his patient volume and his professional satisfaction. He endeavors to offer full-service family practice and admits his own patients to the hospital when circumstances allow. He was recently named one of the top Family Physicians in the nation. He is also involved in the teaching of medical students and NP students and is on the clinical faculty of Touro University.
Dr. Allen has fluency in English and Spanish, as well as some Turkish that he learned in Izmir. He has limited German.
He enjoys watching basketball and football and plays racquetball as well as studying the classical period in ancient history, linguistics, psychology, biology and philosophy.
Richard C. Vause Jr.
Richard C. Vause Jr. is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received his B.S. in Biology in 1974 from St. Joseph’s University, BSPA from Hahnemann University Medical School, Physician Assistant Program in 1978, his Masters in PA Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2000 and a Doctor of Health Science in 2004.In 1982, he joined the Pennsylvania Army Reserve Nation Guard as a weekend warrior and served with the 108th Combat Support Hospital, as a Warrant Office, until 1985. In February of 1985, after completing an orthopedic surgery residency program he went on active duty with the PA Army National Guard. He was able to serve in the army in multiple capacities.
Richard C. Vause Jr. is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and has served on numerous committees. He served three terms as a president on the PHS Academy of PA’s, three terms as president of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Commission Officer Association of the PSPHS, and is a Life member in the Reserve Officer Association Society of Army PA’s, the Veterans Caucus of the AAPA, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
Dr. Vause has received numerous awards for his service over 22 years in uniform. After retiring from the PSPHS in March 2005, Richard joined the faculty of the Nova Southeastern University Physician Assistant Program in Fort Myers, FL. He transitioned to the Academic Director in 2006. Richard joined Salus University in 2009 and remained there until relocating to Las Vegas, NV and joining Total Care Family Practice in September 2016. Richard provides many years of great knowledge and expertise to our practice.
Andrea L. Warburton
Andrea L. Warburton was born in Canandaigua, NY. She received her B.S. in Biology in 2010 at the University of Houston Clear Water. She moved to Las Vegas in 2011 and began attending school at Touro University and graduated with her Master of Science in Medical Health Sciences which she completed in 2013. Immediately after she continued her education at Touro University and received her Master in Physician Assistant Studies in 2015.
Andrea is a member of the Nevada Academy of Physician Assistants and American Academy of Physician Assistants. She has done extensive work in the community by volunteering her time at the Touro Health Unit which works largely with the homeless population in Southern Nevada, The Shade Tree which treats women and children staying at the shelter and the Vegas Root Community Garden which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing produce to senior center and youth schools in the underserved areas.
Andrea joined Total Care Family Practice in February 2016. She has been a wonderful addition to the practice.
